The FIRST LEGO league essentially caters to children who fall in the age group of 9 to 14 years. While the FIRST LEGO league programs are meant for school children, the FIRST Robotics Competition is meant for students in high school. There is also the FIRST Tech Challenge that is meant at providing affordable robotics technology to college students. This is one of the most popular FIRST robotics programs. Over 137,000 students participated in this program in the year gone by.
