Thinkway Toys in collaboration with WowWee and Disney launched about six months back an innovative robot toy named the Wall-E robot toy. The characteristic feature of this robot is that it will follow you around the house wherever you may choose to go.
Another characteristic of this robot toy is that it is designed to help clean up the polluted environment on Earth.
Priced at $189.99 each, the robot toy features 10 motors that enable it to move and react to its surroundings. It has several touch and sound detection sensors built into its body. Plans are also afoot to reincarnate all the Walt Disney characters in the form of a robotic army of toys. Sounds interesting to you as a fun-loving kid, doesn't it? And as a doting parent you may state there goes my about $200. Okay, if it is so then please read on.
The toy has been a big advertisement of sorts for a Wall-E movie released by Disney Entertainment/Pixar. The news has already taken the world of kids by storm. The push is also aimed at marketing several Wall-E based video games and/or similar toys based on the overall response of kids to this robot toy.
So, definitely a considerable enterprise is hoped to be built on the Wall-E robot's antics. Especially WowWee's involvement ordains good signs for the quality of the Wall-E robot toy as they are a reputed company in the world of robotics. The hype is sure mind-boggling, but the real climax would have been reached if the movie had turned out as good as the Wall-E robot toy, although it is wonderful in itself.
Coming back to Wall-E, the toy responds to voice commands as though by remote control. Surely there has to be a lot of programming effort gone in into its making. And yes, the remote control in your hands controls every action of Wall-E including the cute one where he signals bye to you with a wave of his hand.
Not only can the toy move forwards, it can also retrace its steps backward. It has a pair of binoculars for its eyes which are supported through a long neck that projects up from the trunk. The eyes can twist 360 degrees around with a rotation of the binoculars and using the retraction mechanism built into the neck the robot toy can view objects at different heights.
The sound sensors in its body are programmed to detect and identify your voice commands and obey commands fired using the remote control. Wall-E also responds to your touch on its body. Wall-E moves using chain enclosed rollers which are controlled by motors in its body.
Before you already guess it, I want to inform you there are several different toy options in Wall-E robot toys in your nearest market. All it requires you to make a visit to the nearest Wall-E toy dealer's shop. I'm sure you will not regret it.
